well well, the time has come! tomorrow morning i head off to melbourne for my first melbourne fashion festival experience!
i’m very lucky to have scored a media pass to a few of the loreal paris runway shows, which i’m SO looking forward to… will be posting reviews, pics and debriefs from everything i go to!
i think i’ve packed my whole wardrobe though*, so my suitcase is feeling pretty full. there’s a lot of black but i am bringing some colour to old melbourne town.
xx

*we all know this statement is completely false.
how’s the weather in your city? adelaide is 41 degrees today = YUCK.
just the final round up on my xmas in melbourne – xmas day. peter and i had a casual pasta lunch at leo’s in st kilda and then went to check out the beach which was lovely. windy as you can see, but the weather was great!
outfit: cue top & shorts, various necklaces, steve madden flats, vintage bag.
feels like xmas was so long ago though, but i loved my xmas away from home, might have to do it again next year!
hope everyone has a fab new year’s eve and happy new year! 2010 is going to be great, i just know it.
xx

peter and i decided to venture out to south wharf to check out the new DFO. and lucky for us, it was completely dead, void of xmas eve madness. whilst i bought some darling shorts and top from cue on sale, and peter picked up a woollen knit from witchery man, there wasn’t much else there for us. the whole docklands area is a bit dead huh? creepily quiet and lacking atmosphere.
we then went back and checked out christine and marais. oh the jewels in christine! amazing, and completely unaffordable for me unfortunately. but i’ll get myself a lanvin necklace one day! marais had their xmas sale on already, which i totally loved and picked up myself two pieces for xmas [ha!]. i bought a pair of hussein chalayan silk shorts for $100 and an amazing bui de barbara bui silk skirt for $195. i’ll post on those pieces separately!
after a rest, it was time for the degustation at the press club. it was really quite great, a couple of let down courses, but overall a fab experience. i mean, it’s not like we meant to get champagne for $24 a glass, but y’know, it was xmas eve.
day outfit: steveJ & yoniP dress, sportsgirl necklace, steve madden flats [i ended up getting completely drenched walking back to the hotel after the skies opened up and poured down!].
night outfit: acne dress, wittner wedges, singapore necklace

suffice to say it was a million degrees and awful weather to be outside. i managed to get to chapel st but apart from walking around like a zombie, i didn’t manage to find that much. then it was cbd time, where all i can remember is the hot weather. i don’t even know what i did. ha!
after that, we went back into the city and went to the GPO and checked out the new acne store [which was fab!] and a few of the others. belinda is so great, pity i missed out of their post-xmas sale. i loved the clothes in willow too.
starting off with some champagne and chocolates at the kitten club, we then went on to dinner in chinatown at post deng which was fab, and drinks at workshop.
outfit: cue black jumpsuit, white zara vest, various necklaces, horse belt from portmans, steve madden flats.

happy monday everyone, i’m off for a shoot in the hills! hopefully the photos won’t turn out too hideous considering i’ll be modelling!

i always leave fitzroy to the last minute, so decided to go there on the first stop of my melbourne holiday.
i checked out the lost and found market after a recommendation from amanda of not so naked blog fame. picked up a necklace and a blouse for cheap. caught up with wonderful bianca at the grace darling and then dinner at houndstooth with peter which was amazing. 4 courses for $25? unbelievable. so different to our $495 bill at the press club on xmas eve [more about that later!]. and the food was DELICIOUS. can’t wait to go back in march. finishing up with drinks at polly was expensive but nice.
outfit: urban outfitters dress from nyc, steve madden flats from hong kong, h&m $5 sunnies, veronika maine necklace, chapel st bazaar vintage handbag.

xx
and i absolutely can’t wait! peter and i will be dining at the press club on xmas eve, and fitting in all sorts of vintage and new shopping. so excited!
so i better start packing tonight! not looking forward to the early start tomorrow, but it’ll be worth it.
i’ll be taking along a lappie and my camera, so hope to do a couple of posts when i’m there.
last day of work until january 4! it is exciting! i never take xmas holidays!
