gee, these pants have been so controversial in my life! ahaha. you either love them or hate them. seems that most people hate them ["morning zebra!" said the random man this afternoon], but i don’t care, they’re awesome! super comfortable zebra pants! i wore this outfit to the hairdresser today, i love getting my hair done!

…also known as the reason why i missed my flight home from sydney.

i’ve just returned from sydney, where i was attending ‘a higher learning‘ for a couple of days [it was great and more to come on that later]. knowledge overload, so once it was all over, i caught up with my bestie Sarina and we fit in some lunch and shopping at Bondi. i couldn’t leave sydney without checking out the dion lee pop-up shop which has just opened, and consequently couldn’t leave sydney because i missed my flight home! ahaha. luckily i could be put on the next one, and luckily i did make it to the shop and went away with a couple of purchases. i had no time to try on anything!  sooooo many beautiful clothes. i wanted them all. do go down if you’re in sydney! it’s located on glenmore rd, paddington.

i never thought i’d get a jacket this colour, but i totally love it. the colour is just so different from what i’d normally wear. i require long black leather gloves though. stat.

i also just made a vow to wear more clothes that i’ve made. i don’t know why i don’t. a mad woman i am. anyways, i didn’t make this tshirt [bonds did] but i did embellish it by sewing hand printed on silk pictures of my mum when she was young. i like it. what do you think?

outfit: editor in chic coat from modcloth, sportsgirl cardigan, purple gloves from ebay, dear mary tshirt by me.

in the beginning…

Monday, May 31st, 2010

i was a bit lucky to be contacted by sarah from beginning boutique and offered a voucher to use in their online store and then blog about it.  as you can see, i don’t have any advertising on my site, but when nice people contact me with a proposal that ends in me increasing my wardrobe, it’s hard to say no! the reasons 1. i like finding new online boutiques. 2.  it doesn’t take much for me to spend money 3. i had been looking for a new blazer 4. what am i supposed to do when i find a jacket that reminds me of tron?

and this is how i came to own my new bec & bridge shoot out blazer. now i do majority of my shopping online, so of course i compare prices. and you know what, they had cheaper prices than others that i found. i also signed up as a member and got further discount in addition to my voucher as well. i ordered the blazer on thursday, and it arrived on friday! super quick. if you have any questions about the items they stock, they provide great feedback and help before you purchase as well. i don’t think there’s much more that you’d want in an online purchase.

beginning boutique stocks great aussie designers such as gary bigeni, dhini, sara phillips and others that recently showed at rafw. keep an eye on the online shop because they’ll be stocking 2010/11 spring/summer collections from miss unkon, love is treason and mouille.

PS – they have a great twitter presence too, you can follow them here.

outift: bec & bridge shoot out blazer from beginning boutique, vintage necklace from the glamourai, witchery lace tshirt.

the glamour!

Tuesday, May 25th, 2010

oh how royal! that’s what my first reaction was when i saw this baby in real life. i’m dying. it’s GLORIOUS. i’m probably the closest to salivating over jewellery as i’ve ever been. it’s vintage, it’s from the wonderful kelly [the glamourai]. i had to have it when it popped up in her online shop. and it’s so big. i can’t wait to wear it!

do go and check out her online shop for more of her unique jewels.

look at this amazing new ridiculous jacket i just bought from ebay. it’s one of the new pieces from h&m’s new garden party collection. look at it. it’s ridiculous! huge shoulders, covered in roses, it’s pretty kick-arse. and impressive from h&m too! i have no idea what to wear it with though. it matches nothing and everything.

worn with new witchery lace tshirt [$32.95 bargain thanks very much], singapore necklace and those wang glasses.

if you like the looks of this jacket, i actually have another [ebay stuff up so two are in my possession] which i’d love to sell [because who needs two!]. hit me up if you’re interested.

ps – so the other little project i’ve been spending majority of my spare time on is the Adelaide Fashion Collective. all about igniting fashion in Adelaide. the idea was born in a pub many months ago, where we said “hey there’s some cool shit that happens in Adelaide, cool FASHION shit*. let’s do something about it”. and now we have the Collective, and it’s wicked. check it out.

*see, i wanted to swear on my contributor bio on the site, but i wasn’t allowed to! but the boys can’t stop me off for swearing on my site!

it’s a tribute: the glamourai

Sunday, April 11th, 2010

so this is how i use the internet. here is the process.

oh, look at this wonderful blog, love love love. let’s follow it. oh look at their wonderful outfit posts. love love. let’s keep following it. omg. the jewllery! she makes them? all by herself? and it’s using vintage pieces? and now she makes reworked vintage kimonos? for real? amazing.

and this is how i came to buy this pomegranate glamourwrap dress by the glamourai from shrimpton couture. make sure you check out both sites though, they’re so wonderful! even as soon as i received my dress from shrimpton couture, i have bought a gorgeous vintage sequin top. [i'm stocking up on goodies for RAFW!]

gosh it’s beautiful. so so beautiful. and you can wear it multiple ways which i LOVE.

here i’ve worn it with this amazing anne valerie hash black vest underneath [bought this from Marais during LMFF], alexander wang glasses, new tights and jeffery campbell heeled creepers.

oh, and look how short my hair is! so crazy. can’t get over it.

yes.

anyhoo, it is kinda relevant. here’s my new ann-sofie back dress from topshop. it’s pretty cool. slashed layers and beading. quite different for me. but i can’t wait to layer it with various cardis and jackets in the cooler months. worn with 120 denier tights from sportsgirl. oh i do love a good opaque tight.
